Brass Monkey - Race report

Up and running YORK  was proud yet again to support the famous YORK BRASS MONKEY HALF MARATHON. We were there on hand to provide gels and bars to give runners that early morning / mid race boost from our stall. As per usual it was a wee bit nippy so gloves a plenty were sold. Although not as cold as usually it was still chilly (most notably to me standing on the stall), but the sky was clear of gloom with the usual cross winds o the road out to Appleton Roebuk. As usual it was a great success and seemed to be enjoyed by all. Darren Bilton flew the flag for up and running coming in , in 6th place.
Yet again the course record was smashed by a relative unknown amongst the hoards of regular brass monkeys, Paul Martelletti in an amazing 65.21. Well done to all runners and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
